Uruguay is a benchmark of exceptional quality in the wool industry, combining a deep legacy in the handling of this fiber with a firm commitment to innovation and state-of-the-art technology. For decades, wool was the country's main export item and the basis of its textile industry, which led to the development of a strong institutional framework.

Uruguayan wool can be traced back to its origin in a specific property. The traceability system has been mandatory by law since 2005 and indicates the country's commitment to transparency in the supply chain, offering confidence and guarantees to foreign markets.

Uruguayan wool has the international Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certification, developed by the U.S. conglomerate Textile Exchange. In addition to the requirements of the Farm Animal Welfare Committee (FAWC), this certification includes environmental aspects such as care of soils, pastures, and biodiversity, as well as social attributes that are reflected in decent working conditions for workers.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification, which they also hold, ensures that companies comply with responsible environmental management practices, protect workers' health and safety, as well as the promotion of fair and ethical practices in the supply chain.

Thanks to its production methods and dedication to animal welfare and environmental care, the country has managed to produce superior-quality wool.
