Uruguay XXI and the National Directorate of Culture (DNC) present the IDA Program, an initiative seeking to promote exports of contemporary Uruguayan literature by supporting the translation, promotion, and distribution of works by Uruguayan authors.

For whom is the program intended?

Support modalities with non-reimbursable funds:

LINE A

Literary works

Up to USD 2,500 per work.
This award is for foreign publishers who wish to publish, in any language other than Spanish, a book in any genre, previously published in Uruguay and by a Uruguayan writer.

LINE B

Excerpts or chapters of literary work and catalogs

Up to USD 300 per work.
Uruguayan publishers and authors with established companies, with work already published in the country, may receive support to translate excerpts or promotional catalogs into English.

LINE C

Support for audiobook production

Up to USD 1,000 per work.
Uruguayan publishers or authors with established companies may access this award for the adaptation of a work to audiobook format. The work must have been published previously and belong to a Uruguayan writer.
