Tech leaders of LATAM will gather in Punta del Este for PUNTA TECH, the most important event of the IT industry

Punta Tech Meetup is one of the most important tech gatherings in the region, where technology leaders from Latin America and the world come together every year. Punta del Este, one of the most sophisticated tourist hotspots on the continent, provides the ideal natural setting for entrepreneurs, investors and business executives to meet and share their ideas and projects, and do business together.

On Monday, January 14^th Punta Tech Meetup will be held at the brand new Punta del Este Convention Center, starting at 7 pm.

The spirit of the event is to foster the meeting of key stakeholders in the world of technology and business so that they can exchange ideas and strengthen their connections in one of the main seaside resorts in the region. Connecting people and promoting good business opportunities are the essential factors that guide the spirit of UruguayXXI, the country’s promotion agency, supporting the development of the industry and growth.

At the forefront of technological trends, Uruguay celebrates Punta Tech Meetup for the eleventh year. Uruguay's main tourist city has brought together the region's technological community and international benchmarks in innovation in one of the continent's most relevant networking events.

Uruguay XX, the promotion of investments, exports and country image the agency, supports this event for the fifth consecutive year, with the objective of inviting foreign investors and businessmen to know first-hand the ICT ecosystem and advise them on the advantages of the country for the development of new businesses.

In this sense, Uruguay XXI will have a specific space in which the executive director Antonio Carámbula and sector specialists will be present.

The main axis of the 11th edition of Punta Tech will be the exponential technologies. Driss Temsamani, Director of Digital Channels and Business Banking Services for Citi Latin America; Kevin M. Esvelt, Assistant Professor at MIT Media Lab; and Evelyn Landman, Electrical Engineer at the Israel Institute of Technology; and Verónica Melián, Consulting Partner Americas Human Capital Leader at Deloitte; will be the main speakers.

As a wrap up, there will be a closing panel discussion on Criptomoney, one of the main trends in innovation today. The space will be moderated by Miguel Santos, the CEO of Technisys. Participants will include Franco Amati, Signatura (AR); Andres Bzurovsky, AstroPay (UY); Andre Carrera, Wuzu (BRA); Gabriel Kurman, RSK (AR); and Andres Szafran, CryptoFacil (UY).

Side-evente will be held to encourage encounters and business between attendees, sponsors, speakers and the press. An example of this is the Citi Speed Dating, a meeting that has as its main axis the search for startups, mainly those specialized in fintech.

With the objective of becoming a first class business hub, Uruguay achieved notable technological advances, placing itself at the forefront of the region.
