Uruguayan startups were selected to participate in Turingia Investor Day

The startups will pitch their projects to potencial investors.

Uruguay was selected as the only guest country in the region to participate in this activity, which takes place on June 16 and 17.The event connects innovative startups with potential partners, investors and business angels.

Thuringia Investor Day is an annual event organized by the Federal State of Thuringia, Germany. This edition will be held online under the title Digital Edition - Playing Changes, on June 16 and 17.

Uruguay was selected as the only guest country in the region. A total of 54 local technology-based startups were submitted, of which 15 were selected. Six of these companies will have the opportunity to make their pitch to investors: Optea, CityCop, BiotekPetrol, Eolo, Customs-hub, Goypick.

CityCop is a social platform for community alerting where you can report crimes in a community and receive real-time information on what is happening in the areas of interest.

BiotekPetrol is a manufacturer and supplier of biotechnological and biochemical solutions for the elimination and/or reduction of waste that affects the environment, through the use of natural, non-polluting and ecological products and processes.

Eolo Pharma is a drug discovery company focused on the development of new therapies for diseases related to chronic inflammation such as obesity, type II diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, among others.

Customs-hub develops business solutions to facilitate foreign trade between countries. They have experience in the application and implementation of the Data Model, which allows them to develop customized solutions and support implementation projects.

Goypick develops robotic stores for commerce, e-commerce and industry. It allows having physical branches at low cost and working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, fully automating the operation of stock, sale and delivery of physical products of different packaging and weight.

Optea provides Augmented Reality (AR) solutions - through Head Up Display's - focusing on the forestry and precision agriculture sectors.

At the same time, the startups DeOrigen, Doctor Training, Naxon Labs, Pickapark, Cambiame, TGR Tecnhology, Tu Terapia, BOKI - Eduboki SRL will have a virtual stand at the Innovation Arena Exhibition with access to companies and investors with whom they can schedule meetings.

Uruguay XXI coordinated the participation of Uruguayan startups with the support of ANDE, ANII and the German Chamber. In order to arrive better prepared at this stage, on Tuesday June 2 Isabelle Chaquiriand and Alejandro Laborde, experts in capital raising by companies, held an online coaching session on how to present their project and what to expect when negotiating an investment round.

This is the first time that Uruguay participates in this event. Uruguay and the region of Thuringia are in a process of strengthening relations, through different activities and visits of delegations.

The ICT sector is one of the priorities of Uruguay XXI for attracting investment and promoting exports. The agency promotes the country's advantages as an international provider of high quality IT solutions and an industry leader in the region.
