Uruguay finalizes the details of its participation in Expo Osaka 2025
Three months before the inauguration, representatives from more than 160 countries and international organizations finalized the last international meeting of participants

Expo Osaka 2025’s inauguration will occur in less than 90 days, and preparations are in their final phase. In recent days, representatives from more than 160 countries and international organizations gathered in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, for the last International Participants Meeting (IPM) before the big event.
During the two-day meeting, the participants discussed the final details of the exhibition with the Japanese organizers and the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). They discussed the pavilions’ content, the events’ scheduling, and the logistics required to welcome millions of visitors during the six-month event.
Expo Osaka 2025, with the theme “Designing the society of the future, imagining our lives of tomorrow,” promises to offer visitors a unique experience, with activities ranging from thematic seminars to art exhibitions and cutting-edge technological breakthroughs.
Uruguay is finalizing details to present its unique vision in a global context. Focusing on innovation and sustainability, it seeks to strengthen international cooperation and promote its image as a leader in technology and innovation in South America.
Participation in the Expo seeks to attract investment and strengthen commercial ties, as well as promote initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In the words of BIE Secretary General Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, the expo seeks to inspire individuals to reflect on the future and the crucial decisions that shape our lives. For his part, Expo Commissioner General Koji Haneda expressed Japan’s commitment as a host to create a memorable and enriching experience.
Expo 2025 Osaka will open its doors on April 13, 2025, anticipating the arrival of millions of visitors who will explore the offerings of each participating country. This global event will catalyze new ideas and solutions to contemporary challenges, consolidating its importance as a key platform for international progress.
