At a significant meeting to strengthen regional identity, Marca País Uruguay actively participated in the Ibero-American Country Brand Pre-Forum held in El Salvador. This event brought together delegations from the region and members of the Ibero-American Country Brand Council (CIMAP), including representatives from Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Cuba, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Venezuela.

The meeting, held in May, resulted in essential agreements for collaboration and the global positioning of the Ibero-American region. The country brands agreed to coordinate efforts and develop joint initiatives to promote the region globally. This agreement is considered one of the most innovative advances achieved during the event.

Under the leadership of Morena Valdez, the Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, Rossana Dresdner, the executive director of Imagen de Chile, and the current president of CIMAP, the event was attended by both public and private entities from El Salvador. The main objective was to exchange views and develop strategies for the CIMAP 2024 Forum, which will take place in Chile at the end of the year.

Since its creation in 2013, CIMAP has established itself as the most important regional forum in Place Branding, bringing together the 19 leading organizations of Country Brands in Ibero-America.

Additionally, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, Country Brand Manager Larissa Perdomo delivered an outstanding presentation of Uruguay to Salvadoran and Uruguayan business people, government agents, and large importers, including representatives from Walmart, PriceSmart, and the Salvadoran supermarket chain Super Selectos. This event took place at the Official Residence of the Embassy of Uruguay. It served as the ideal setting for Ambassador Pamela Vivas’s announcement of the re-launch of the Uruguay—El Salvador Chamber of Commerce.

The participation of Marca País Uruguay in the Ibero-American Pre-Forum underscores Uruguay’s commitment to strengthening regional identity and collaboration, positioning Ibero-America as a united and competitive region on the world stage.
