Under the organization of Uruguay XXI, the Embassy of Uruguay in Paraguay, and the business chambers of the ICT and Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sectors, 16 Uruguayan companies will participate on August 7 and 8 in a new commercial visit to Paraguay, which aims to explore the potential of that market for local companies.

Uruguay is a leading exporter in these sectors thanks to its political, social, and macroeconomic stability and a dynamic and consolidated innovation ecosystem. Its strategic location facilitates access to global markets, while its state-of-the-art technological infrastructure and time zone between the United States and Europe favor international business. With a highly qualified labor force, the country offers customized, high-quality solutions, consolidating its position as Latin America’s leading per capita software exporter and a reliable provider of professional design, engineering, and architecture services.

Aeromarine, Technobeef, Concepto, K2B, Hikko and ITC, from the ICT sector, will participate in this mission, while Lab Sud, CDS Ingenieros, Tatú Arquitectura, Montans Fagundez Architects, Prodie, Ingnova Ingeniería, Genba, LGD Arquitectos, Barbot Ingenieros and Enginlabs will participate from the AEC sector.

The representatives of the local companies will have personalized meetings with potential clients or strategic partners in that country based on agendas prepared jointly with the Paraguayan Industrial Union. The Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (CUTI), the Uruguayan Chamber of Architecture and Engineering Services, the Uruguayan Chamber of Construction, and the Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce and Services also participated in preparing this agenda.

The planned activities also include a talk on how to do business in Paraguay, which will take place at the offices of CPA Ferrere in Asunción on Wednesday, 7, and will be given by the firm’s partner, Pedro Ayala. In addition, the delegation will participate in a reception at the Uruguayan Embassy in Paraguay on Thursday, 8.

A hub of technological innovation and world-class professional services

The two sectors promoted by this new commercial visit to Paraguay represent thriving and consolidated groups of activity contributing to the local economy.

Uruguay has positioned itself as a regional technology hub and global IT solutions provider in the ICT sector, with exports exceeding US$ 1.8 billion annually. Uruguayan companies have a proven track record in custom software development and specialization in smart cities, gaming, agtech, fintech, health tech, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and cybersecurity. This growth has allowed Uruguay to reach markets such as the United States (destination of more than 80% of exports), the United Kingdom, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Panama and Paraguay.

In the AEC sector, Uruguay has experienced remarkable growth in the last decade, consolidating its position as a leading exporter of professional services. The country’s highly skilled workforce translates into specialized professionals in key areas such as financial services, design, and architecture, enabling it to offer high-quality solutions to global clients. In addition, the country’s political and economic stability and a favorable business environment provide confidence to companies seeking to outsource services, ensuring continuity and security in operations. Uruguay’s strategic location in the region facilitates communication and collaboration with clients worldwide, strengthening its position as a reliable and competitive supplier internationally.
