Expointer is recognized as the largest agribusiness and agricultural machinery fair in Latin America and one of the most relevant worldwide. Uruguay, with a solid tradition in agro-industrial exports, is present with a country stand that shows why it has established itself as one of the main exporters of high quality agricultural products.

Uruguay has been participating in Expointer for years and this time it is in the international pavilion with the largest stand among the participating countries. There, Uruguay receives Uruguayan companies that come to promote themselves and strengthen their commercial ties with Brazilian counterparts.

On Wednesday 28, the Uruguayan Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries, Fernando Mattos, and the Consul General of Uruguay in Porto Alegre, Marión Blanco, arrived at the exhibition, accompanied by a delegation of businessmen to participate in an agenda of visits and notes to Brazilian media.

Uruguay, which has built its international reputation as a supplier of safe, sustainable and high-quality food, is a key player in the export of beef, dairy, rice, soybeans and a wide variety of agricultural products. This leadership is based on a rigorous approach to traceability, animal welfare and soil care, standards that have secured the trust of the world's most demanding markets.

The country stands out for the quality of its exports and is a pioneer in the implementation of systems that make it possible to follow each product from its origin to the final consumer, guaranteeing food safety and transparency throughout the production process. These systems, together with sustainable agriculture and the efficient use of natural resources, have positioned Uruguay as a reliable and responsible exporter on the global stage.

Brazil is one of Uruguay's most important trading partners and participation in Expointer is a strategic opportunity to consolidate this relationship and explore new business opportunities. In recent years both nations have worked together on innovation development projects and opportunities, including several visits by business and institutional delegations to Rio Grande do Sul, Montevideo and Punta del Este.

This year, Uruguay's presence at the fair takes on special significance, given the impact that the recent floods have had on Rio Grande do Sul, severely affecting the local economy.

“Uruguay's participation in Expointer not only strengthens our commercial relationship with Brazil, it is also intended as a show of our support and solidarity with a strategic partner on its road to recovery. Our shared history and cultural closeness encourage us to continue building a prosperous and sustainable future together,” said Sebastián Risso, executive director of Uruguay XXI.
