Uruguay, through its national investment, export and country brand promotion agency Uruguay XXI, participated for the fifth consecutive year in Logipharma, the world’s leading pharmaceutical logistics event, which annually brings together global supply chain leaders, top logistics service providers, and technology firms in the sector.

Over the course of three days in Lyon, France, Uruguay XXI reaffirmed the country’s positioning as a business hub for Latin America, with a focus on pharmaceutical supply chains, regional logistics, and capabilities in medical devices. Uruguay stood out as the only country with its own pavilion and national delegation, distinguishing itself among key players in the industry.

The Uruguay country stand received a visit from Jean Paul Muchada, Honorary Consul of Uruguay in Lyon, and hosted a delegation made up of representatives from Ralesur, LACC, Global Cargo, Costa Oriental, Zonamerica, and Suizo Latam.

Uruguay also took part in the event’s academic agenda with a masterclass organized by Uruguay XXI: “Distribution Excellence in South America: Harnessing the capabilities of Uruguay as a Life Sciences HUB”, delivered to a select group of 20 international companies.

Uruguay’s value proposition was endorsed by global industry leaders such as Saddam Huq (GSK), Didier Dayen (Merck) and David Van Turton (Pharma Logistics Network), who shared their experiences operating in the country and explained why they continue to choose Uruguay as their regional logistics base. This recognition was reinforced by the selection of Montevideo as the host city for the 2024 annual meeting of the Pharma Logistics Network.

Participation in Logipharma 2025 not only provided a commercial platform for Uruguayan companies to showcase their specialized services, but also helped strengthen Uruguay’s positioning as a unique option in the region. A professional and reliable ecosystem, combined with first-class incentives and a business-friendly environment, make Uruguay the ideal hub for pharmaceutical and medical device supply chains in Latin America.
