Two months before the opening of Expo Osaka 2025, Uruguay has appointed Benjamin Liberoff as the country’s commissioner for this global event, effective March 1. With a prestigious background in tourism and public management, Liberoff will leverage his experience to ensure Uruguay's successful participation in the exhibition.
Sebastián Risso, Executive Director of Uruguay XXI and the current commissioner for Expo Osaka, along with the Country Brand team, is overseeing the transition phase to continue preparations for the fair.
Expo Osaka 2025 will open its doors on April 13, welcoming millions of visitors eager to explore the innovations and proposals from various nations. Uruguay’s participation in this exhibition aims not only to attract investments and strengthen commercial ties but also to promote initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The exhibition will be held under the theme “Designing the Society of the Future, Imagining Our Life Tomorrow,” and it will serve as a crucial platform for exchanging ideas, technologies, and solutions to global challenges. Uruguay's pavilion will focus on strategic sectors such as tourism, technology, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, culture, and livestock, positioning the country as a leader in innovation in South America.
Uruguay’s participation in Expo Osaka 2025 is backed by various institutions and companies that support the country’s presence at this international event. Among the sponsors are the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Banco República Oriental del Uruguay (BROU), the beef sector brand Uruguay Beef, and the National Institute of Viticulture (INAVI). Additionally, the initiative has the support of several ministries, including Education and Culture, Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries, Industry, Energy and Mining, and Tourism.
