The Más Comercio program, organized by Uruguay XXI, arrived in Rocha to strengthen the export capabilities of local companies. To tour all the country’s departments, this cycle of workshops and mentoring has been designed to help Uruguayan companies access international markets and increase their competitiveness.

The meeting in Rocha, which took place at the Commercial and Industrial Center, brought together representatives from various institutions such as LATU, INEFOP, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, and El Correo. Through a video call, companies from Chuy, an area particularly interested in learning about the best strategies for exporting, also participated.

Más Comercio is not just a workshop. In addition to explaining step-by-step how to export, the program offers personalized mentoring in which experts listen to each company, its challenges, and goals. During these sessions, they discuss available programs and tools, from training courses to subsidies and business strategies tailored to each venture.

From the local company MARA UY, Luisa Sosa was the first to receive personalized mentoring in Rocha. “It’s not the same to hear from afar that all this help exists as it is to be here and have access to all this information,” she said excitedly.

Follow-up is critical to the program. After the meeting, the specialists contact the companies to ensure that the recommendations are implemented and that the exports are successfully completed.

At the event’s opening, the Director of International Cooperation and Projects of the Municipality of Rocha, Álvaro Garofali, highlighted the importance of initiatives such as Más Comercio. He mentioned that Rocha currently ranks 15th in human development but has the potential to climb positions with the right push. “Hosting Uruguay XXI here is a crucial step to motivate companies to grow and become exporters,” he stressed.

This year, the Más Comercio cycle has already passed through departments such as Rivera, Salto, Tacuarembó, Paysandú, Cerro Largo, Florida, and Colonia, and its arrival in Rocha marks a significant step forward for local companies looking to export their products worldwide.
