Banco Santander Uruguay is a banking entity operating in Uruguay. Its head office is in the city of Montevideo, and it has a network of branches in the interior of the country.

It has been present in the Uruguayan financial market since 1979; in 1982, the former institution Bancos del Litoral Asociados was acquired by Banco Santander, and began to operate under that name. In 2008, it acquired the Dutch bank ABN AMRO, and with it also its branch in Uruguay, making it the largest private bank in the country.

Banco Santander Uruguay is a subsidiary of the Spanish banking group Banco Santander.

In its daily business it not only fulfils its legal and regulatory obligations, but also aims to exceed people's expectations.

Santander has 145 million customers, in markets with a total population of more than one billion people. They have more than 100,000 employees who interact directly with customers on a daily basis in their almost 12,000 branches and customer services.
